Dr. Maria Sokolina
Mission
As a dentist, I have long been aware of the problems my patients have had with sleeping and breathing disorders. About twelve years ago, I decided to add Dental Sleep Medicine to my practice. I undertook professional training, became board certified in Dental Sleep Medicine and served on a Board of American Academy of Dental Sleep Medicine.
It has been a great professional success to help patients with sleeping, breathing, and snoring problems. I am now furthering my practice to bring more current science and new scientific breakthroughs to my patients as well as medical and dental professionals.
Here are the Three Principles that are most important to me:
- One size DOESN’T fit all! Every patient is unique and requires a personalized therapeutic modality. CPAP, OA, orthodontics, or myofunctional solutions may all play a part in personalized treatment.
- Patient education is essential for patients to take an active role in their therapy. I am eager to provide those resources for patient understanding.
- Cross-discipline understanding is crucial for different treatment modalities for obstructive sleep apnea, upper respiratory resistance syndrome, snoring, interrupted sleep, and other sleep and breathing disorders.
